Pros: MP3 functions are great. Clear audio, the best I've heard in a car stereo.
Cons: Shuffle button doesnt really shuffle. Buttons lose lettering fairly quick. Not very attractive.
The Bottom Line: Aside from two small complaints, I would not hesitate to advise some one to purchase this product. I have always trusted and respected Alpine.

| nikoba's Full Review: Alpine CDA-9811 Car CD/ MP3 Player |
I bought one of these about a year ago with a 2 pairs of alpine speakers. I love this deck so much. The clarity of the sound is beautiful, it is almost comparable to my 24 bit sound card (delta 1010) hooked up to my studio monitors (event 20/20).
I have really enjoyed the MP3 capabilities. Nothing like having over 200 songs on one CD. The mp3 function also supports mutiple folders so you can organize your songs to your own liking. My wife and I have are own folders which is really handy, and when we are both in the car we can use the M.I.X. option to play songs from all the folders, even though it seems that the deck seems to play more of her songs than mine.
My only two real gripes about this deck are: 1. The buttons after time lose their lettering. The track forward button is completely bare, and some more buttons are on their way. 2. The shuffle button isnt really a randomizer. It is more of a set sequence. If it plays songs 38, 72, 104, 12, then the next time around it will play exactly the same sequence.
I highly recommend this deck to any one who really appreciate crystal clear audio, and isnt afraid to invest a little more into the system. You cant run this reciever into stock or sony speakers and expect the same outcome as Alpine or MTX speakers. This deck also works so well with a gentle sub woofer. There are so many settings to get a sound that is perfect to you.
