| loudsystem's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P7400 Car CD/ MP3 Player |
Yes thats right Pioneer finally come out with a head unit that decodes MP3s. The wait was worth it too. The deck is awesome it has Pioneers EL display which looks great it has well over 16 different types of screen savers. Excellent sound quality, nice sleek look, and is rather easy to use. For my test cd i took a blank cd and made 10 folders with mp3s in each one and burned it in data format so they were in mp3 format not wav. You put the cd in and the unit takes about 15 seconds to load then about 3 seconds between each track. That is the only down side to this unit. The head unit has a 3 band parametric eq, seperate bass and treble control for the rear with selectable frequencies, the 7400 also has a few different DSP's. I feel pioneer could of done a little better with the volume knob, maybe a little rubber ring or something to make it easier to grip. Over all the head unit sounds great and never skips. If it does skip your most likely 4x4ing out in the desert.
