| pyc103's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P7400 Car CD/ MP3 Player |
For the money, you can probably find this product in the $250-$300 range, this is probably one of the sharpest looking, full featured player you can buy. Gotta have the MP3 playback ability. Personally I'm sick of looking through books of CD's when you can fit them all on a couple MP3 CDs. Anyway, here are my Pros and Cons.
Pros:
-Great Looks
-Sounds great (sound highly customizable)
-3 set of outputs
-Plays MP3s
-Full screen display
Cons:
-Slow Mp3 track selection
-Screen scratches easily
-Curved surface, brings lots of glare
I have to say, comparing to an earlier version of Pioneer CD player, (MOSFET45), you can really hear the difference in clarity and punchness with the music. The predefined sound fields actually make a huge difference and sound really great! The Organic Display is beautiful. I used to have a problem that people in the back seat wouldn't be able to display the LCD, this unit has no problems with that whatsoever. You can choose between a couple different types of background, depending on your flavor. Even has a very nice clock display when the unit is turned off. The MP3s do play very slowly when searching through tracks, I'd say about 5 seconds between songs. However, if you let the songs play straight through, you barely notice, maybe a 1/2 second delay. In actuality though, you really do get used to the small delay when skipping tracks. Highly recommend this unit if you are in this price range. I am VERY satisfied with this unit.
