smashinbum's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P7400 Car CD/ MP3 Player
I bought this player about 2 weeks ago for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. After completely disassembling her entire front console on her Honda (a little over-excessive) I have it working. Unfortunately the player did not come with a drive cage, which is this aluminum housing that makes securing it to the car possible. The player is designed to be secured to the car by its sides (like most do.) Unfortunately my gf's Honda's requires it to be secured from the rear. I'll probably buy an adaptor kit to finish the job or something, so it's not a big deal. On the other note, the player sounds and looks great with the visualizations (some of them actually sync with the music) which is cool to look at whenever the road becomes monotonous (when you are a passenger and NOT a driver.) The player reads ID3 tags (version 1 but not 2) so that you can see what you're playing. The only downsides that I noticed was a 6 second delay that happens after you select a track before it starts playing, although I don't notice it since I just put it on random and not worry about it. The other downside is that, in order to eject a CD, you have to push a button to flip out the faceplate, and then eject the CD, which in the long run, puts wear and tear on the player. If you can live with its 2 flaws, and if someone who knows what they're doing is doing the installation, then you should definitely get this player.
