| lancekain's Full Review: Audiovox MP-5010K Car CD/ MP3 Player |
First off, let me say that the details page on Epinions contains errors. The unit is not a changer, it can however be connected to one, thus it can not play 6-10 disks. Second, the unit does not have a hideaway face, It has a Detachable Face Plate and a security light.
It sounds incredibly good, pumps out lots of power 240 Watts (60 watts/channel), and the screen is crisp and clear.

DISPLAY
I created this from my own experience as I believe that Jensen didnt brag enough about their display features. The MP-5010K is capable of reading ID3 tags off of MP3s. It can display; the file name, artist, song title, play time or clock time.
CONTROLS
The controls are perfect. Very well laid out, they feel good, and they're not confusing. I figured out almost every feature on this unit by exploring the buttons and menus the only features that required looking at the manual were the less important such a beep tone. Furthermore, the remote is also easy to use, and allows for minimum looking at the deck, and maximum looking at the road. Need to listen to song 122, then use your thumb to find the upper left button on the remote, then the one below it twice, etc
The only down side is that the remote doesnt have a display button to flip back to the clock. The MP3 disks can have folders, so you can reduce your favorite CDs to MP3s and store them in folders of the same name.
Most MP3 decks that I looked at had complaints that they skipped easily, well if you hate skipping CDs as much as I do, you will love this; I was doing 40 MPH when I hit some rail road tracks, no skip no pause. In fact, I have had my unit for 8 months and it still has not skipped yet, even with the snow plow induced potholes in the roads.
PROBLEMS
There is only one problem that I have found. The flip down face is nice and all, it gives a clean looking faceplate, but it is flawed. I sometimes have to push the eject button several times to get the face to flip down. When it does flip down, it is incredibly slow, but with a 200 song MP3 disk, you wont need to open it often.
Overall I'd recommend this unit to someone looking for the best car CD/MP3 player they can get. I dont know of any more expensive units that are better or even as good as this one. Jensen made a masterpiece.
