Initial impression is very good. Luxurious appointments galore. The ride on the 2005 is noticeably better than previous years. New touch screen nav system is very user friendly (we knew how to work it better after a 30 minute test drive than the guy selling it to us), but can be annoying to use for looking up points of interest as the spelling and exact name is critical (including "The" when appropriate)...it just needs a better software search engine.
Kids LOVE the space. If you need space for people and stuff and don't want to get a roof carrier for you Lexus, this is the best bet. We got the bench seat because we needed the people space, and the bench is easy to get out of the way for third row passengers to get out. The 2nd row captains chairs don't have a release in the back and can only be moved from the front.
The back up ultrasonic assist is cool. Someone unexpectedly walks behind you and an alarm sounds; backing up you look at the lights for indications of 8 feet through 12 inches in succesive yellow, yellow, red, red lights, with alarms when you are getting close to something
Solid excelleration for the largest production vehicle out there. Quiet interior. Actually fun to drive. The new automatic suspension system is really neat. Hardly any roll going into turns (which is an impressive accomplishment for this 220 inch behemoth.)
