I purchased a brand new 2005 Jeep Liberty Sport with 2.4L 6 Speed Manual in August of 2005. After 1 week with less than 100 miles on odometer, I started to experience "Pup out" or "Slip out" problem on 1st gear. When I start moving 0 to 5 MPH with the 1st gear meeting up clutch slowly, the sift stick rapidly move back to neutral position with dull but loud banging noise. Which scared passengers and I so many times, it really sounds like someone rear ended us. Another scary thing is we come to stop during first acceleration so a vehicle behind us can really hit us, I saw a vehicle came really close to us when this happened many times. This happens about once every 10 times and still happening at almost 4,000 miles on odometer. I took it to a local dealer when it had 3,000 miles on it, but I was told that it is too new to replace the transmission under warranty so I have to keep driving until the symptom get worse.
Has anyone experienced same kind of problem with Chrysler manual transmission? This is my 8th manual transmission vehicle but never had this kind of problem. I'm getting so sick of my Liberty that I really like to get rid of it, but I hate to take about a $10,000 hit on vehicle only 15 months old with less than 4,000 miles on it.
