| val_parthen's Full Review: Technics RS-TR272 Single Cassette Deck |
This unit is basically a unit to help complete my stereo. I received the RS272 as a gift, and it suits my purposes. I've used it to record some records and some radio and it records just fine. I really like the ability to hi-speed dub as well as the volume level indicators. Some things I don't like, however, is that it didn't come with a remote and I haven't been able to get a universal remote to work with it yet. Also, I wish that there were separate controls for each side. There's no pause, except for the record pause, but I don't want to accidentally record over something by pressing play instead of stop. Also, there's no record level dial, so what your receiver outputs is what this thing gets. Also, when recording, it takes a second or two to click in, and it leaves a blank spot... no seamless recording if you're trying to edit something. It's a wonderful unit for someone that has some tapes they want to play, but for a true enthusiast, shell out a few more bucks.
