Pros: Brass burners, stainless cooking surface, build quality
Cons: Marketing stickers affixed to grill are way too difficult to remove
I recently went to Lowes to purchase the #1 rated Jenn Air grill and discovered the Char Broil Stainless there. It had brass burners with a lifetime warranty, full stainless exterior, a stainless cooking grate and a brass side burner. All this, and $250 less than a comparable JennAir that offered nothing but more than incremental surface area. I have not seen any grill offer this many quality features for anywhere near the $399 that I paid.
This is replacing my 9 year old Weber gas grill. The porcelain coated cooking grates and flame bars (replaced two years ago) were already rusting again and it did not hold up to the elements as well as I had hoped (even with a cover).
As far as putting this unit together, I had absolutely no problems. This manufacturer impressed me with perhaps the best packing and instructions that I have ever seen, and they would have gotten a perfect score if it weren't for the 1 hour that it took to remove the "advertising stickers" from the grill itself. (I found that WD40 removed the adhesive best).
I'm very pleased...I think Char Broil is trying to improve their image in the grill category. I never thought I would buy one, but I am very impressed.
