Having tried, and enjoyed, Citadelle vodka, I was anxious to try their gin. I am not a big vodka drinker but really liked Citadelle in a Kangaroo (there is no such thing as a vodka martini). I recently ran out of my normal martini pour (Plymouth Gin, great stuff) and decided to give Citadelle a try. I was less than thrilled when I tried my normal martini recipe (5 parts gin, 1 part dry vermouth, two olives). It just didn't do it for me. I much prefer Plymouth or Bombay Saphire in a martini. So I tried Citadelle in a gin and tonic. It is a bit expensive to mix with tonic, but I thought I might as well try. It gets totally lost in a gin and tonic. BTW, my preferred pour for a gin and tonic is Tanquerey, but I will admit that many of the cheap gins work fine in a gin and tonic, where you need some real punch in the flavor department.
