Pros:Eco Drive technology, elegant, accurate, hi tech.
Cons:Numbers are not luminous, alarm sound low, a little slow to set the alarm.
The Bottom Line: One of the best watches.
This is a very beautiful watch with advanced technology. I like very much that you never have to change battery and I was amazed with the hands moving automatically when you change modes. It seems magic!

It is intelligent. Changes the date automatically according to the number of days in every month taking into account the leap years. And the date changes in a few seconds starting at exactly 12:00 AM, as every watch should do. Not very usual for a watch with analog display. When you pull the crown out to the second click for time setting, it moves the second hand to zero and moves the minute hand to the nearest integer minute. Also when you turn the crown, the minute hand moves in whole minutes. This way the second hand remains always synchronized with the minute hand. In almost all other analog watches you must stop the second hand when it reaches zero and take care to put the minute hand on integer minutes, else the second and minute hands will not be synchronized. Most people do not make this synchronization. Many people do not even realize they must do that. This watch takes care for you.
When the hands are moved backwards they go a quarter of a minute behind the final indication and then a quarter of a minute forward. I believe this is to avoid the backlash of gears. Very smart!
Actually this watch is digital! Because it has a digital brain. It measures the time using counters inside the microchip exactly like the digital watches. But instead of displaying time on an LCD, it moves the hands. Because it moves in steps using the stepper motors, in order to display the time stored in its counters the hands must be synchronized with the digital brain. That's why you must perform the reference position correction to the hands. And it is this digital brain that makes the watch intelligent.
This watch is of high quality and it is very accurate. In 1.5 months it has gained only 1 second. The most accurate watch I ever had. The error is much less than what is documented by Citizen. Maybe I am lucky. But I think the 15sec/month error is when used in extreme temperatures, so it must be normal that when you wear it all the time the error is much less.
Since the alarm will sound according to L-TM mode time when used in this mode, you can use this watch in that mode all the time instead of TME mode. This way you can easily change between standard and DST time without having to set the minute hand.
I love very much this watch.
