Pros: Line out, rubberized plugs on unused jacks - Nice, bright display - Metal lid.
Cons: Poor, clunky squarish design.
The Bottom Line: It's a nice try on Compaq's part, but fails miserably in performance and design. NOT RECOMMENDED at all !!

| ocmega's Full Review: Compaq iPAQ PCD-1 Personal CD Player |
The Compaq "iPAQ PCD-1" was my first cd/mp3 player purchase... but ONLY because just before Christmas everyone was out of stock of my first choice, the RioVolt 250.
(which I *love* and recommend as the *only* choice for a cd/mp3 player at this time)
The player, which I purchased from Radio Shack, would take a full 1:30 to 2:00 minutes to "read" the disk (the RioVolt is ready in about 10 seconds!). It would randomly "lock up" and just quit working. Also, when pushing the "open" button to change disks, the unit would not open.
The volume of the unit was inadequate.
Finally, the design of the unit seems a little "behind the times" with an overall square shape, augmented/hindered by a curved bottom/top perspective.
In conclusion, I returned the iPAQ to Radio Shack, and bought the RioVolt 250... love it! See mine and others' reviews of the RioVolt 250 and don't buy any other cd/mp3 player.
