rendored's Full Review: Intel Celeron® A, 2.0 GHz (BX80532RC2000B) Re...
Do you like Left Over Turkey from Thanksgiving, Sure it might be good, but its not Quite as good (in my epinion not nearly as good) as that first fresh slice of meat coming off a freshly cooked bird.
The Celeron is Left Over. Its the left over parts of when Intel makes a Pentium III. They start by trying to produce a Successful Pentium III, a high dollar item they can get a lot of $$$ for. Well, what happens is, Not all of them work, most of them Do though. What to do with the chips that don't work. Here's What.
Recycle them. If they don't run at 800mhz, clock them to 700mhz. Lower the FSB (front side bus) to 66mhz. Disable half the Cache. Keep repeating, lowering clock speed until it works. if it still doesn't work then its no good. They do throw these away thank god.
The point is you are buying a Recycle processor. Something thats supposed to work perfect, be State of the Art, and its just left overs. I am NOT recommending the Pentium III, I would recommend the AMD Athlon or AMD Duron instead. However if you do choose an Intel chip, pay the extra money and get a Pentium III.
