Pros: It has close-up shots (bugs, flowers). I like the 1-8 sec. shutter.
Cons: The battery cover gets loose with use.
The camera case is cheap, won't hold up.
The Bottom Line: I recommend it for everyday use. It's easy to operate and fun for the most part. I bought mine 2 yrs ago. Still works!

| raccoonish's Full Review: Creative Technology DC-Cam 3200Z Digital Camera |
This Creative 3200z digital camera is one I discovered on Creative's website (I own their Sound Blaster Audigy 2) and decided to do some research on it. I compared with other prices and features. Then I found this camera on eBay for cheap. I won it, but 2 yrs ago $175 sounded good when Creative was selling it for $250!

What I LOVE about my camera is how it has a lot of features that other top-of-the-line cameras have, yet it's easy for beginners or amateur photographers. I like that I can choose to change settings manually. I also like the 1-8 sec shutter speeds. I've taken great outdoor Halloween pics of my house which was dimly lit, but my favorite pics in slow shutter speed are of a lightening storm from a distance which captured multiple flashes!
The pictures in good light are high in detail, but the movies it takes are very small and do not look that good, because they are so small (even on the computer). The sound is decent, but if camera is zoomed in for movies, it's best to not move the camera. The movie will get choppy.
One peeve I have with this camera, is that any time you take a setting out of auto (ie. spot focus, shutter spd, etc.) in the menu, it will automatically reset to AUTO everytime you restart the camera. It can get pretty annoying and time consuming.
The stock camera case offers NO pockets for accessories (extra rechargeable batteries, the USB & TV cables, extra memory cards, etc.) or a shoulder strap.
Plus, the Velcro(R) on the case wore out quickly, not sticking at all. I recommend buying a better quality case with zippers.
Also, the battery compartment cover started to become loose after about a year's use. A casual bump will pop the cover open and my rechargeable batteries will fall out (they have even rolled off of a cliff!).
