Pros: shaking bass, clear trebles and can be hanged, almost endless possibilities.
Cons: Remote Control (in certain cases).
The Bottom Line: The Inspire 2400 is the speaker system for those who want to upgrade from flat to vigorous audio. It's worth the money to spend on good speakers than poor speakers.

| lavoisier's Full Review: Creative Technology Inspire⢠2400 2 Speakers |
When computer buyers ask me about buying computer speakers for the home use, I could give them a long advice. But for those who are really concerned about the budget, but want decent quality sound, I would really recommend a speaker system with a subwoofer. But all too often, people may not have purchased the speakers that are the best value on the market. What happens is that people misjudge on the high power ratings labeled on the packages of the speakers. Those high power ratings only happen during a short duration of time, usually when the speaker starts emitting out audio. Usually, they don't really use the RMS values for power, which is more of a stable power rating for audio emissions.
So, what's my recommendation for those who are concerned about buying computer speakers on a budget, yet still want great quality audio? The Creative Inspire 2400 is the solution.
For those who have those $5 speakers that come with the computer packages, you know how hard it is to really get the full potential out of your sound card with those cheap speakers. With this speaker system, it allows you to change your audio experience from flat to rollin. Because with MP3s, games and DVDs, those $5, speaker systems just won't cut it, as they produce very insufficient bass.
What comes with it?
This speaker system comes in a very small box with one subwoofer, two magnetically guarded satellites, remote control and a owner's manual for easy installation. I keep saying that magnetic shielding for the satellites is important, is because it safeguards your monitor from image discoloration and distortion.
Experience
Installing these speakers for many doesn't require a manual at all, as the remote control labeled the 2 wires for referring where the wire should be connected. Just connect the remote control to the sound card and subwoofer by taking their respected wires and plugging it into the green ports of the respected components. Then plug the satellites into the subwoofer where it offers an RCA like port, as it is the hub for controlling the volume. Finally, plug the power adapter into the power outlet and you're ready to have a lifetime experience of great audio without the cost. From here, you may turn the speakers on, as the switch is on the back of the subwoofer and the LED shows that the subwoofer is receiving power. Then you want to experiment with the bass and what's your ideal bass level for the setting. Once you've found your ideal bass level, you may place the subwoofer out of the way and it shouldn't be placed near the monitor, because it isn't magnetically guarded.
Immediately with the experience that I get from customers that bought the speaker system is that it truly delivers the bass, compared to some of the other vendors that offer equivalent speakers within the same price range. When my clients have tested the speaker system through MP3 files, where in high treble songs such as "A Woman's Worth", by Alicia Keys; the trebles produced in the speaker system is very rich, minimal distortion and even in bass rich sources like "Rollin", by Limp Bizkit; it clearly shows that there is more than sufficient bass for any audio content.
For gaming, the subwoofer really packs a lot of vibrating bass for your experience in effects such as explosion, gun fires and tire screeching. And it really does beat out basically all of the 2.1 speaker systems in gaming for intensive bass.
Under DVD videos, the audio produced the same effect as it was in the MP3s and games. It produced a remarkable amount of bass through the subwoofer and it didn't produce cloudy trebles nor too much treble. Even in "Die Hard", "Independence Day" or any other THX certified movie titles, it showed that the Inspire 2400 is also ideal for DVD movies as well. But for a better experience, do invest in 4.1 or 5.1 speaker systems for that.
With 4.5 watts (RMS) of audio from each satellite and 12 watts (RMS) from the subwoofer, it truly justifies the great audio output that I had with many of my clients. But it could stand for a little more power as a result of the low priced speakers. Power may not be cutting edge, but the sound coming out of the speakers within this power range is on the groundbreaking side.
But for many people, if they place the volume remote control on their desk, having the cables facing inwards, they complain about how the remote control is reversed. What they meant by reversed is that when the volume control is placed on the work surface of their desk, having the cables face inwards of the desk, they complain about the way that the upwards scroll is lowering the volume and the down scroll is raising the volume. As a result, I wished that the remote control was essentially the same as the Creative Inspire 2600, which has a circular knob that is easier to control when you're placing it on the working surface of your desk.
Plus, you can even hang these speakers on the wall for even a greater audio experience and it even saves desk space.
This speaker isn't just for computer audio, it can even be used on your portable audio players for a great experience out of those speakers too. Besides, it can produce more bass than the headphones or earphones alone.
Recommendation
For less than $35, at certain local computer hardware stores, these speakers are a great deal for the money. I would recommend these speakers for those who have bought a new computer, but don't have much money left over for speakers or for any users of budget computers to experience the greatness of audio. It's ideal for those who have bought computer systems that bundle just cheap $5 speakers and that would like to upgrade their audio experience. So, my philosophy is to happy tuning and entertaining with the Creative Inspire 2400.
