Its the web cam with all the qualities I've been looking for. Given below are the great advantages which this web cam offers:-
1. Great still pic quality. Resolution can be adjusted and still pictures can be taken with great ease and confidence. This is particularly helpful due to the snap button on top of the cam. If not, then a simple mouse click can do the job.
2. Video conferencing is also great. Some people may not agree saying that the frame rate is too less. Well, the fact is that this camera supports upto 30FPS which is the max possible frame rate supported by some of the even more expensive web cams. Well, yes, you shouldn't move too much. After all, video conferencing does not mean playing basketball infront of the cam and then complaining about its frame rate. Its natural.
3. The camera is light, robust, compact and easy to use with the option of being attachable to even a notebook or LCD monitor. The only problem is due to the light wight due to which the cam may fall off the monitor or any other surface if not correctly placed and positioned. For that, i recommend that users must straighten the USB cable first and try placing the web cam on a balanced surface.
4. Focussing really shows its worth. Unlike other cheap web cams, which do not focus well, despite rotating the focussing ring, this cam focusses well even with the slightest rotation. Users must remember not to rotate the ring every now and then as it will loosen the focus ring (which is a remote possibility with this web cam).
5. The low light pic adjustment is also great. With a simple to use yet working software, user can easily adjust for low light conditions. And mind you, the camera DOES respond well.
6. As with all the cams, try placing your PC in some place inside the room where the light conditions are good. This is important and required for better video quality and to avoid blurrings.
7. Most of all, the cam will give good result on a new PC with a broadband internet connections. Dial-Up Users must not complain of the slow frame rate or jerky pic which are not always the case with this or any sub $50 web cam. The room environments and usage primarily depend upon us.
8. The bundled software is extremely helpful. Specially the spy mode is really interesting. Capable of generating snap pics on even the slightest movement or at intervals, gives great flexibility in operating the cam even unattended. The video is sharp and smooth too.
I have to use the dial-up internet with slow speeds from my ISP and despite the poor lighting conditions, the cam works really great when I connect with friends and family members over the internet.
It may not have features like the Logitech's face-tracking and built-in mic, but after all how many times or much do we have to move while communicating with someone over the net infront of the PC. Remember, overspending is stupidity. Be wise and buy this cam today.
