Pros: great amount of power, design is simple nothing flashy
Cons: heavy, needs extra battery, good luck finding a place to mount it its huge
The Bottom Line: I would recommend buying this amp because it gives you unbelievable power in just 1 amp. I see people trying to get the same power outta 3-4 amps.

| blkse97's Full Review: Crossfire VR2000D Car Amp |
This amp is crazy. I now own 2 VR2000D's. Originally I had 1 hooked up to 2 Audiobahn AW1208T's, but I decided I wanted more bass so I'm getting 2 Audiobahn AWIS15P's, which will need 1 of these amps per subs. After hearing how the AW1208T's sounded with this amp there is no doubt that with 2 of these amps and the AWIS15P's I will go deaf.
The only trouble I had with this amp was powering it. I had to get an Optima Yellow Top battery because in one month I completely drained 3 Die Hards to the point where they wouldn't hold a jump. I also ended up running 2 4 gauge power wire from the battery to just one VR2000D. I would suggest just going with 0ga. I had some extra 4ga laying around and was lazy so that's what I used.
Power rating on this amp is 1000w x 1 RMS into 4 ohms, 2000W x1 into 2 ohm, variable crossover between 50-250Hz, variable subsonic filter between 20-50Hz with on/off circuit, RCA preamp output and a CFR-3 analog subwoofer level control. the overall size is 9.3"W x 2.1"H x 22"L
With my first VR2000D I had it mounted to the back of the dual 12" subwoofer box. This was the only place I could have it mounted due to the lack of space in my 97 nissan 200sx. It was very difficult to get to the level controls with it mounted on the box. Other than the difficulty getting to the controls, actually adjusting them is very easy. And with the bass knob you can mount anywhere it does become easier. Now that I have 2 of these massive amps I will have to build a custom false floor to mount both in, which should make it alot easier to adjust levels.
Compared to all the other amps I have owned this was doesn't created much heat. I thought that it would get a lot hotter since I had it in such a small space, trapped between my box and the rear seats, but it stays cool. I haven't had any over heating issues.
My headuint is a Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD flip out touchscreen monitor. Before this headunit I had the Pioneer DEH-P8MP, I do notice a slight difference in sound quality between the 2, but again it is a very little difference.
The type of music I mostly listen to is hiphop/rap/r&b. This amp gives the music an extremely large punch. I haven't adjusted my amp since it was installed (lowest setting on the levels)and the bass is just out of this world. It gives me way more punch than I need. In all honesty I'm scared to turn any of the settings up for fear of breaking something in my car, such as blowing open my trunk or my windows. Since I got this amp I notice my rear windshield vibrate with the bass, with all my other systems I never experienced this.
As for my other systems, this current one is by far the best one I have had so far, I have to wait for my new subs to come in then we'll see how it compares. My friends can't believe the amount of power my amp puts out. A friend of mine had 2 12" Sony's and a Sony amp (sorry don't remember the exact models, he got them from Circuit City), he blew his subs trying to compete against me. I know this is mean but I couldn't help laughing at him. The look on his face was priceless. My brother's system (2 12" Audiobahn AW1200N's and 2 Audiobahn A8002T amps) doesn't even compare. He can turn his volume up all the way and all I have to do is turn mine to around 10 to blow his out of the water. And he can only do that for 15 minutes before his amps overheat.
The only way to make this amp better is to just get another 1 and run each to its own sub to get the maxuim amount of power. I can't wait to get my new subs and run 1 VR2000D to each just so I can make all my neighbors mad :)
Overall this amp is amazing and if you ever have the chance to get one i would say go for it. They are kinda hard to find it took me 3 months to find someone selling the second one i now own but you can get them at better prices now. I paid $800 for my first one (around 2 yrs ago) and only $500 for the second (about 1 month ago).
