Pros: Very easy to use once you get the hang of it. Portable and lightweight.
Cons: Takes a while to learn to use it, fabrics are a bit too funky.
The Bottom Line: I like this carrier, it works as well as any of my other slings, but I would prefer a toned-down fabric selection and a padded shoulder.

I have three little boys. . . all three years apart--I need at least one hand available at all times! The Maya wrap really makes this possible. I own three slings, all of them are different brands. I can with all honesty say that this is not my favorite sling--the fabric is a bit to funky for my classic and subdued style, and I prefer a padded shoulder. But it is the sling I keep in the house with me at all times (I have a second sling in the car--my favorite, and one is at grandmas house or loaned out at any given time).
It is wonderful to be able to pop my fussy three month old in the sling in a front facing carry and be able to go about my day--usually within moments he is asleep--or cooing happily at something.
My son loves to ride in the sling and we use it more than any other baby equipment. We just packed up the swing (he hated it) and the bouncy seat is OK--but the sling is a never fail!
I like that I am able to put my baby in the sling and be able to mother my two older children at the same time, I can take them for a walk or push the three year old on a swing.
Be forwarned that if you wear your baby out in a sling you will get comments--ranging from the slightly inane "isn't he uncomfortable like that?" (Ummmmmmm he's sleeping and looks fairly peaceful, my guess is that he is comfortable) to the curious "where did you get that thing--did you make it?".
It is hard to believe when you see a bitty baby in this wrap that you can also hold a larger child in it--but I have used it with a sleeping three year old , thirty pound child as well--it works!
I do wish that these slings were available in more solid colors. The Guatemalan knits are beautiful and durable, but a bit loud for my tastes at times. But hey--it is hard to please me!
Overall this is a wonderful baby carrier with a long life span, and a baby pleaser in my household!
