The Bottom Line: If you want a very affordable, 4 port wireless router that does everything you can ask for, than this is your router. Buy the di-514 and enjoy.

I purchased the dlink di-514 to replace my dlink di-711, which I dropped while moving to a new house. I bought the di-514 from buy.com for $41.50 with free shipping and then there was a 20 mail in rebate. So I got the router for a total of 21.50, can't much beat that.
This router is very small, the pictures make it look bigger. This unit work perfectly as a router. I have it connected to my broadband and I run two different servers behind the router. The virtual server port forwarding setting works perfect, properly sends my ftp requests to one server and http requests to another and so on. My previous di-711 only had one port so I had to hook it up to a hub, the di-514 has 4 ports, so I no longer need my hub. The firewall is very standard but it gets the job done and you can get very granular with the restrictions. I also vpn into work using ipsec vpn authentication and this work perfectly through the di-514, both wirelessly and wired.
The wireless portion of the di-514 is very easy to setup and support 128bit wep encryption which I would suggest everyone use, unless you like being the victim of war drivers. My house is about 1600 square feet and my laptop works everywhere on the wireless, hub is on second floor and the signal get a little weak in the basement, otherwise great.
I would highly recommend this extremely affordable, yet highly customizable router from dlink. The di-514 is perfect for the beginner or someone like me who enjoys running server and messing with routers.
