Cons: No Dolby Digital/DTS support for DVD Audio discs
The Bottom Line: A good player with lots of features (and a top-notch progressive scan chip). Possibly no DTS/Dolby Digital DVD-A support.

I've only had this player a few days now, and it really is a good player. It plays my SVCD home videos (although the manual claims that SVCD is not supported). The on screen display even recognizes the discs at SVCD and plays them fine. I have not tried any XSVCD format yet.
Progressive DVD playback is awesome. The picture is quite noticeably better than my old Toshiba (non-progressive-scan). My TV is a 65" Mitsubishi widescreen. I've never really been impressed with the DVD picture on this TV, but it turns out that I was just never impressed with my old DVD player. This player makes movies look like they have never looked before. I've read on the 'net that this is due to a very good progressive-scan chip in the player, but I don't know much about that. I can only comment on the results. :-)
I use the DTS/Dolby Digital decoders in my Sony receiver, so I can't comment on the sound quality of the decoders in this player.
However, I have a DVD Audio disc that supports Dolby Digital and DTS surround. My previous DVD player (Toshiba SD-4900) played them in DD/DTS. However, using this player, I do not get either choice (the DVD does not detect that the player is capable of either). Customer support was less than helpful, simply claiming that the disc "must not work in this player". According to the manual it should, though. Not a big deal to me since this is the only DVD Audio disc I have ... but something to keep in mind if DVD Audio is your thing.
Overall, this is a very good player, although DVD Audio support without multichannel surround seems like a pretty pointless feature to me.
