I have the same problem here... (Reply to this comment)
by jhhc2000
I've bought mine about half a year ago, and the same problem happend on my machine since the day I got it. Until recently when I send it back to repair, the shop has refused to test further as they believe the problem does not happen. Any one with the official statement from Pioneer regarding this issue or who I can contact to have my drive looked after?
Many thanks.

Playback Problem Update (Reply to this comment)

Pioneer is aware of this defect. It is caused by a malfunctioning memory chip. There is a 4 month wait for the chip. I suggest if you have this player and it is malfunctioning, take it to an authorized repair center and request that either a new motherboard be installed with the corrected chip (shorter waiting period) or request to have the defective player replaced by Pioneer.

Playback Problems (Reply to this comment)

I too experienced the video playback malfunction from this model. I sent the unit to a Pioneer authorized repair center and a new pickup assembly was installed with negative results. I called Pioneer Customer Service and they were not helpful. Pioneer should issue a service bulletin on this model, extend the labor warranty if needed, or recall this model.

Play bugs on DVD`s (Reply to this comment)
by elmaguitodeoz
Im a recently owner of a brand new DV-354 and I had experiment certain bugs during play of a DVD original movie, also happened with a DVD-R copy. The bug consist in a kind of reset when you are watching a movie, no matter what zone code or sound track DTS or AC3, the screen goes black and instantly display the Pioneer logo and start again from the beginning without the presetting preferences of audio and subtitles. This bug seems to be reported by Pioneer like a firmware problem during the upgrade from the DV-353 model to accept the JPEG format files. Is there anyone who knows the solutions to fix this firmware bug? Please send me some information; I appreciate the bothering, thank you
