Pros: Plays many different formats of recorded media
Cons: Laser too sensitive; gets stuck on rental DVD's that aren't perfect.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this if you plan on renting DVD's (got stuck in middle of movie). Other players performed fine with the same rental DVD's.

| dbuie's Full Review: Sony DVP-NS315 DVD Player |
I rented 2 DVD's from Blockbuster and the Sony got stuck (picture froze) halfway thru both. I returned the unit for a new one thinking the first unit was defective and the exact same thing happened with the second unit. I then asked the store rep. to try the same rental DVD's on the floor model and it also got stuck. When the store rep. tested the same DVD's in three other models (Hitachi, Panasonic and Toshiba) the scene that had consistently hung played fine in all three.
The laser is too sensitive and DVD's must be perfect to play properly. Don't buy this one if you plan on renting DVD's.
