No matter what the cost, bad service and limited interest in fixing an obvious design flaw leaves me - a local custom home builder -- with a bad experience.

The touch screen on this $4,000 Dacor Range is applied on the inside of the stainless body panel with double-sided tape (remember...it's an oven). Within 2 years, the main touch panel adhesive tape concept failed and while the panel is still working - has been pushed into the body cavity by very light use. I called Dacor and because the unit is outside the 1 year warranty - the company will not stand be hind the $4,000 range. Even though the fix could be easy re-gluing it or coming up with a solution -- they suggest, as the local dealer Mullets Appliance agrees - that the entire panel needs to be replaced at my costs - over $400...because the double sided sticky tape failed to hold the panel in place.
