Pros: Small, powerful as a full-size unit, stainless steel interior, low water consumption
Cons: Noisy compared to installed full-size models; hose doesn't really store easily when not in use.
The Bottom Line: If you need a dishwasher and you're tight on space, a Danby countertop is a good choice. I had mine for over five years and never regretted the purchase.

| dshelton76's Full Review: Danby DDW396 22 in. Portable Dishwasher |
That's the question I would always get when I had guests over at my home. I lived in a very small space and desperately wanted a dishwasher, but I couldn't afford to lose any cabinet space and my countertop space was limited, so I started looking into these countertop models. After viewing several, it became obvious that Danby had the highest quality...the other brands looked cheap and didn't hold as many dishes. I ordered this unit online and paid around $400 after shipping and handling. This was about 6 years ago. They are a fraction of the cost now. I have seen this unit sell for under $200 at Best Buy. Of course when I was looking for it, no one carried the brand. But over the years Danby has proven their worth in the market place. The little unit was tough. I had it for five years and it was still working like new when I gave it up. I purchased a larger unit when I got a bigger place (Another Danby because this one had served me well). I gave the countertop unit to a friend, because it was still working great. The dish-rack was a little worn with age, but the dishes still came out clean. I could fit up to an 8 place dish setting in it. Since I lived alone, I could usually fit all my pots and pans in there along with my dirty dishes. No more dish pan hands! I loved it!
