This energy efficient front loader is made in Europe by a company called Gorenje that's been around for 55 years. Danby distributes them in the US and Canada. Save me the trouble of listing all the great features it has and read it on www.Danby.com. and view Gorenje's website to see how large an operation they really are. Don't hesitate to buy this just because you are not familiar with the name. They make many major appliances like stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers that are sold all over Europe, Australia, and Canada under their name and under other regional brands.

I got the washer from Home Depot for $399 and the dryer was $299. It came with a 5 year warranty but still got the extended warranty from Home Depot for $79 and it's serviced directly by GE. If you are familiar with how well the Euro washers made by Bosch, Miele, Asko and AEG clean clothes... you will love this baby. Has many of the same features and tub capacity of those other more expensive brands. Built in water heater inside washer just heats the water used without useing existing home water heater therefore saving electricity. Spins up to 1000 RPM's so clothes spend less time in dryer. Just install washer correctly from the start to avoid any noise on spin cycle... read your instructions.
European families have been using this size tub (5kg =1.7cu ft.) for years without hesitation. Besides, who wants to wait to fill up a big laundry load of whites, then another for colors. Easier if done a few times a week rather then stuffing everything in a larger washer and end up washing in cold water to try and save energy. We have all done it. Just does not come out as clean as with this front loader with built in water heater. You can place this 24" wide under a counter because it's only 24" deep also. Tub size is a bit larger than the popular 24" stacked units all made here by Whirlpool and sold through versions of GE and Sears/Kenmore with a tub size of 1.5 cu ft. Remember the Danby has no agitator to tear up your clothes and actual capacity feels larger than those top loaders with an agitator.
If all you have is a 24" wide space for your washer/dryer, look no further. A plumber friend from Bulgaria now living here in the U.S. has told me that the manufacturer, Gorenje, has an excellent reputation and competes in many countries with the more expensive European brands. And besides, you have Home Depot standing behind it. Got nothing to loose but dirty water...
