Pros: Smooth with good memory
Cons: $60.00 per bottle & ugly bottle.
A few years ago I figured VS & VSOP was the only cognac in the world. Then there was Napoleon. Now there is XO.
Each has it own taste and style. Delamain XO compares to big houses of cognac (Remy, Hennessy, & Convoursier) but about half the bucks. First, the grapes are only from the Grande Champagne region (the best area for growing grapes), next Pale and Dry is aged about 25 years.
The taste so smooth and last about 15 to 20 minutes. In the mouth, mellow and roundness, becoming fruity.
This cognac should be enjoyed at home after a meal or with someone special who understands good spirits. The color is light gold, with a mild refreshing aroma on the tongue.
My friends will get the VSOP, but Pale and Dry is my special drink to enjoy and remember. Cognac is personal, and subjective. Pale and Dry is a fine cognac for the money.
