This review is for the layperson, who considers a purchase like this to be a pretty big one, as it was for me ( I bought this to replace a Palmone Zire 31). I work out of the house, and have a ten year old son, so I need to leave periodically. I needed to be able to carry around substantial amounts of information, but not have to power up a bulky laptop to access it. I also wanted to have email and internet access just by stopping into a coffee shop (how great is that!?)
When I bought this, I was under the impression that I would probably be returning it within the 21 day time frame for a full refund - forget it. My palmone was useful to a point, but I literally keep finding new uses for this every day. I can usually pick up some wireless connection in any suburban area, and I have more than enough room for the data I need to carry around.
I've even been able to put movies onto 256mb sd cards for my son to watch on road trips (cost on these cards is usually around $30, and you can erase movies to put new ones on). So much for that portable dvd player I was going to buy. I have three cards that I rotate movies/shows on.
This is a powerful little computer - NOT a glorified organizer. Some people complain about the battery life, but it's always outlasted my laptop (plus, the charger is small and portable - I don't need to carry the cradle around) .
I absolutely love this thing, and I can't wait to see what I'm able to do next.
