I have own the dell axim X5 for ten months and I'm very satified with it. first of all this pda is the best value for the monney you can spend compare to other pocket pc from other brands such as toshiba or HP. for about $270, you get a solid pda with a standard 16 bits color screen it is very bright and easy to read indoor and is quiet readable outdoor. You get a 400 mhz intel xscale microprocessor that is more than enough for typing and editing microsoft word, excel, watching movie, listening to music and do a little bit of navigation using a GPS package. The package from dell containing a very cool craddle that light up when you put your pda to connect it to you computer or to charge it. However, I never use the cradle because I have the alluminum rhino skin case which can't fit in the craddle. Make sure if you decide to purchase this case to use with your pda, order a sync cabble instead of the craddle to save some monney. The battery that is included with this pda is excellent if you don't you your pda all day long so make you you purchase an additional battery to swap in if you need to. The strongest reason that I purchase this pda is cost and versatility as this pda also has a compact flash port that can be used to add memory cards and assesory such as wireless modules and GPS modules.
I'm extreamly satified with this dell axim and would recommend it to any students who has a limitted pocket but want a high performance machine.
