Pros: Let me think...hmm...none since it and it's three replacements from Dell never worked.
Cons: Unbelievably bad customer service, poorly trained tech support, Lock ups and resets, junky accessories
The Bottom Line: I'm thinking about getting an Ipod but I have to finish my post-traumatic Dell stress therapy before I take the plunge again.

| paintmemom's Full Review: Dell DJ (15 GB) MP3 Player |
The buying and trying to operate this thing has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a 'tech' company. Because of some never-identified problem the DJ would not be recognized by my computer (relatively new and running XP). I spend HOURS on the phone trying to get help from their awful tech support people; long hold times, disconnects, support people that know less than I do. They must get yelled at a lot because the first person to answer the phone always promises to transfer you ahead of the que and stay on the line until tech support picks up and then they just dump you in the que and leave you there. Never once did they stay on the line like they promised. Their 'chat' help is just as bad. Even when it finally was accepting people, I just sat in the chat que for almost an hour waiting for a Dell rep but then was disconnected for lack of activity! It's such a joke. Worst of all, apparently their supposed 'tech support' and 'customer care' people are all at some distant, overseas call center. They speak heavily accented, horrible english and understand even less than they speak. They kept sending me replacement units to the point that I was refusing them at the door from UPS. Finally, I decided I just couldn't devote anymore of my life to this piece of junk. But that of course, requires a whole new series of phone calls to 'customer care' to arrange RA numbers and pick-ups etc and they couldn't do that right either. To sum it up, I actually don't know if this thing is any good or not because I never got it to work. Word to the wise: I also bought the 'transcast' which is a gadget to dock the Dell DJ on your dashboard and play it through the radio. It was really expensive but is made of cheapo plastic. It wouldn't have lasted a day in my car.
