Nothing but trouble!

Pros: I can't think of any. Attractive paper weight?
Cons: Lying, poor quality product that will have to be replaced several times

Re: WHAT???? DELL IS OFFERING REPLACEMENTS NOW? (Reply to this comment)
by saynotodell
I didn't request a replacement, I received one because the machine was beyond repair. This is the second time the machine has been beyond repair. I didn't get a 9300, I ended up receiving an inspiron 6000 instead, and it really sucks because I haven't been able to play the sims 2 since I got it because I keep getting driver errors, even though I've tried rolling back the graphics drivers and installing new drivers from both Dell and Intel websites, and nothing has worked. Another fantastic product from Dell! YAAAAAAAAY! /end sarcasm

WHAT???? DELL IS OFFERING REPLACEMENTS NOW? (Reply to this comment)
by metalgear2
HOLY STUFF!!! when did this happen? i've been suffering with my crappy inspiron 5150 for so long and they never mentioned any option of replacing my system, even though i asked them to do so... DELL you are really upsetting me ... also if you do get a 9300 i do know that those systems are stable and that the processor speed is not a problem but nowhere as fast as these systems. This is one reason why I want them to come out with a new model that still utilizes these processors or better ones. *sigh* oh well Dell... just know that I will never buy from you again...

Endorsement? Far from it! (Reply to this comment)

Actually, I've been without a computer for over two weeks now, and Dell still hasn't found an adequate replacement for me yet. I called them yesterday and they said they still hadn't shipped it.

If having a MYRIAD of problems with your system, only to get them poorly fixed by Dell sounds like an endorsement to you, then by all means, go ahead and purchase a Dell, but I can tell you that if I had crystal ball back when I was purchasing this machine, I wouldn't have purchased this machine.

Dell left me computerless for almost two months, a time period which spanned my finals. I lost a draft of my 20 page paper because of Dell's SHODDY craftsmanship. Now, it looks like it's going to be another 2 months before I get another computer, and like I previously mentioned, I only HEARD someone else got a 9300. For all I know, it could be another 5150 they've concocted from refurbished parts.

I read this and this almost seems like a sell for Dell. Granted, you bought a lemon computer but they have remedied every problem you have had, including a free replacement upgrade for your troubles.

My guess is you will be very pleased with the 9300, as it is a widescreen 17" screen with good cooling, etc. The fact that you are getting a Pentium M processor should not deter you; MHz are only one part of the equation and these processors are fast. I hope you write a review of your new, free upgrade!
