| rivimont's Full Review: Dell Latitude D600 (D600SAPP) PC Notebook |
I did a lot of research looking for the right laptop. I wanted very lightweight but built in CD-ROM. I also wanted built in wireless and good battery life.
I finally found the Dell Latitude D600. I found out about this from Dell Small Business Computer Section. It wasn't listed under the Home and Office.
For me the runner up was IBM, however a comprable laptop from IBM would be at least $500 more.
This laptop is great. Mine has the following:
14.1 crisp screen
1.5 Ghz Intel Pentium M (mobile)
256 megs ram
40 ig drive
built in 802.11 b/g
built in bluetooth
weight: 4.5 pounds
Built in DVD player
2 mouse pointing devices (keyboard mouse stick and touchpad.)
First of all this laptop has a great design and looks really sleek. This is part of Dells NEW line of Latitude laptops. I finally ordered it and was very pleased when it arrived. It has all the features one would need and is built well. I think its some sort of magnesium cover, not the cheap plastic found on most of the previous latitudes I've seen. Oh its also got good battery life. I can get about 4 hours out of it most of the time.
Dell also has the best value; can't beat their prices.
I also got Dell's Complete Care Insurance for an extra ~$200. It covers practically anything; dropping it, accidental damage, etc, for 3 years.
