Pros: Easy to use, small, looks nice, durable, for music fans basic needs
Cons: Software a pain to use, defective volume button, no extra features, scroll barrel
The Bottom Line: It's for beginners, good for people in school or college (like me). If you love music and don't mind not have many features this is your player.
eljigiri's Full Review: Dell Pocket DJ (5 GB) MP3 Player
Well I've had this MP3 for about 8-9 months now. If you just want to listen to music, this is your MP3. If not, well look else were. You can make playlist on the go easily. It has great sound quality. Downloading music is very easy and fast. Dell's DJ Explorer is easy to use for fixing your music files (song info and making playlists), but downloading files is very difficult. I've tried and failed a few times, so it takes a lot of work. The scroll barrel works well, but for those with really long lists, it takes a lot of scrooling, unless you use the 'Find' option for what ever list your looking through. I've also been having trouble with the volume button. It goes decreases the volume instead of increasing. Maybe this is a defect in the earlier versions. Battery life is ok. When I got it it had about 10 hrs battery life, which for me is good, I've never traveled for more than 8 hrs and it lasted a whole school day. Over time the battery loses power (Like all other MP3 players), now I'm probably at 8-9 hrs.
So in all its a good player for music. Meets my basic need so I love it.
