I love this monitor. I've been working with CRTs forever and I decided with my new machine I would purchase a digital flat panel. I bought this Dell (UltraSharp) from their refurb monitors and it great! The colors are vibrant, the blacks are very good, and text isn't to bad if you are in 1280x1024.
I knew that FP displays still don't match the clarity of a CRT, but this monitor is just so bright and vibrant that I don't see me going back to CRTs ever again. my girlfriend has an Apple 17" flat panel on her G4 and it is a think of beauty. But I have to say that my new Dell is not far off from hers. I would definitely suggest this monitor to anyone looking to get into the flat panels.
The only improvement it could have, and they've already done it with their new line (1801FP) is put USB ports and a height adjustment. Not a big deal for me though. Fits me perfectly at 6'2". Very satisfied!
