seanbrady's Full Review: Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20 inch LCD Monitor
Recommended:
I ordered a refurbished Dell Ultrasharp from Dell's outlet. They included a standard 120v computer power cord in the box (the kind that connects most computers to an electrical outlet) but unfortunately the power port on the screen is a special circular four pin one, and the two clearly don't match. In addition, the specs on the back of the monitor (many of which are in Chinese characters, not translated into English) call for 20 volts.
There was no documentation with the monitor so I have no proof that there is clearly a missing AC adapter.
The folks at Dell, however, tell me that this model does not come with an AC adapter, and one told me that (no joke here) "20v" may be a typo, it probably should be "120v". Another told me that the monitors always come with all included connectors (though she couldn't describe what those might be) and therefore whatever I am missing must be in the box.
Please, do not buy anything from Dell. It's fine if everything works, but if anything goes wrong there is nobody with any intelligence to talk to. You just sit on the phone for hours talking to someone who is reading off the same screen that you could read if you went on the Dell website (on which, by the way, the ac adapter for this model is not mentioned).
