| backbaconboy's Full Review: Denon AVR-1604 6.1 Channels Receiver |
I purchased the 1604 to replace my not all that old Kenwood receiver which even at 100W a channel just didn't seemed to have the jam to power the Anthony Gallo micro's and subwoofer that I had recently bought. The 1604 seems to live up to Denon's high standard and I have no major complaints on the receiver, the "learning" remote on the other hand does have some issues. One would think that having all relatively new A/V gear the remote would have the ability to learn and operate the equipment this is not so, it seems to kind of half way operate my DVD player and the on/off for my RCA tv but fails to fully operate both and my Canadian digitial sat box may as well be from Albainia. So I still have 4 remotes sitting on my coffee table. This is a very little draw back but the fine folks at Denon should be able to fix in the next generation of receivers. Overall though I would say the 1604 is a solid audio investment worth purchasing.
