My Denon 380 was a disappointment

Pros: I am not a fanatical audiophile, but did enjoy the sound quality that I heard.

Cons: Who wants to buy a cd player at any price that wears out this fast?

I am very frustrated with the reliability of the Denon. The player was purchased in 2004, yet I have now been told by a reputable shop that the Denon's laser and other parts would have to be replaced. It was used on an almost daily basis, but for probably for 10 - 20 hours per week. It was not kept in a dusty area and was on a sturdy metal frame. Perhaps I am being manipulated, but I trust the shop, and the bottom line is that the player would not consistently play any cd because of skipping.
