DVD or not to DVD?!?
I struggled with this for quite awhile. Was DVD really worth the money? After all, VHS with a quality home theater system is pretty good for watching movies at home. Was DVD really going to be all that dramatic an improvement? --- YES!!!
From the moment you start a DVD on this system, you will not question your purchase. The video will jump out and grab you due to the highly increased quality. The audio on a home theater system will pull you into the movie, sounds crashing and squeeking ahead and behind you, as though you were in the movie theater watching your movie. The DVD movie you popped in "just to test" your Denon DVD-1500 quickly will keep playing as you settle into your comfortable couch and watch till the conclusion!
Why the Denon DVD-1500?!?
The answer to this question is rather quite simple; Denon quality is unquestionable. Denon has one of the cleanest sounds generated from audio equipment today. Denon's DVD players also generate some of the clearest picture qualities available. The Denon DVD-1500 is no exception! The outstanding quality of the picture is self-evident as soon as you begin your first DVD. The audio quality is pure and strong.
The Denon DVD-1500 delivers audiophile quality sound with videophile quality picture. DTS and Dolby Digital compatible, the Denon DVD-1500 connects to any modern home theater receiver/amplifier simply and quickly.
Once up and running, this DVD player doesn't skimp on the options either. All the standard options are available on this player, from multiple language support of menus and movies, to subtitles and closed captioning in multiple languages as well. Additionally, the Denon DVD-1500 also offers the full realm of gadget lovers and audiophiles additional features. Freeze frame, multiple speed searching, Title and Chapter searching, and multiple angle viewing give you all the nifty features you could drool for to make showing off your new equipment a dream come true!
Now, the bonus feature that makes the Denon DVD-1500 unbeatable --- Price!
The Denon DVD-1500 already has had it's price dropped, putting it into a unique situation where you can buy an audiophile's level of quality at a "sell off" price.
The Denon DVD-1500 already has a newer brother on the market, the Denon DVD-2500. So, this is a drawback, right? Not a feature, right? WRONG!.
The Denon DVD-1500 may be an older model, but it is constructed with such high quality that it continues to beat the Denon DVD-2500. The Denon DVD-1500 is even more solid than it's newer counterpart, constructed with such a fine degree of solid quality that it is the better unit IF all things were equal. To the Denon DVD-1500's added advantage, not all is equal --- the Denon DVD-1500's price is discounted below the Denon DVD-2500. Who said that saving a dollar or two was such a bad thing?
Okay, so what's the downside?!?
The downside is actually pretty limited. Dependent upon your desires for what you want your DVD player to handle, the Denon DVD-1500 is an amazing purchase. If you are looking for a DVD player that will also deliver high end audio, eliminating the need for a separate CD player, this machine has that requirement covered handily. If, however, you want your DVD player to be a multiple disc carousel for use with your CD collection, obviously this unit does not meet the requirement. Also, in this day and age of self-made music CDs, if you wish to play your CD-Rs with your DVD player, the Denon DVD-1500 again is not the solution. According to Denon, the Denon DVD-1500 will not handle CD-R or CD-RWs.
So, what's the bottom line?!?
The Denon DVD-1500 is an amazing machine. It is a fabulous example of solid unbeatable quality. Solid construction makes the Denon DVD-1500 long lasting, while the high end picture and audio quality will impress anyone. As an additional bonus, due to ever-changing model numbers, you can purchase this machine for the quality and still save a dollar or two!!
