I had heard all about how great a company Dell was and have been a happy shareholder for a few years so when I decided to get a new computer they were the first place I looked. Wow, am I impressed. The computer is great but lets face it, a computer is pretty much a computer. You've got the Mhz and the Ram, etc. and that's pretty much it. Where Dell comes out head and shoulders above the rest is service. You see I did have one problem with my new computer, I ordered it with the new Windows 2000 Professional operating system. When it arrived at my house I frantically assembled, turned it on and quickly inserted by netzero disk and was ready to start surfing the net. Whoa, I couldn't get online. I thought it was a problem with netzero so I tried to signup with AOL, ATT, and Earthlink all to no avail. As it turns out they weren't compatible with Windows 2000 yet. I called the Dell service center and asked for help and they were incredible, I admit I did have to sift through a maze of press 1 to go here, 2 to go there, etc. But once I got to a real person he was amazing. I was one of the first people to have windows 2000 so this was a relatively new problem to them, he really took time and found the solution and carefully guided me through the process of what I needed to do. We were literally on the phone for about 2 hours. Finally I made it. There service department is why I will be a Dell customer for life.
