Pros: Value for money and range of functions
Cons: Would be nice to have a case, only 16MB flash card supplied
The Bottom Line: I bought from a recommended dealer (BH Photography, NY) and they managed to get the A300 to the other side of the world in under five days - respect!

The A300 represents an excellent way of getting into digital photography, even more so when you consider it has video function too.
Batteries and Flash card are accessed via one side, whilst the USB port (cable supplied) is on the other behind a plastic cover. The instruction manual guides you through the process, but it took me some time to figure out how to get the video function to work - silly me the big button on the top!
The functions are access via menu's and these are all relatively easy to work out, although the flash section was confusing at first.
One other slightly confusing factor is that the CD's supplied in the box were for both Mac and PC, and at first it wasn't obvious that they were for both (I thought I had a Mac set). Also the software is a bit much. There are at least two upload apps and two management tools - why Mr. Canon. It would have been nice if it recognized the software that was already there from my Canon Scanner.
For the money there aren't many cameras that offer the function and reliability of this little number
