How does the S400 compare to the A85? Is the major difference Lithium Ion vs AA batteries?

Your and Howard Creech's review of this camera have convinced my wife and I that this is the camera we need. We are looking for the best point and shoot, and this appears to be it. You have helped us in our decision and probably saved us money as well! Thanks,

Completely agree with you there Howard.
After I started learned the advanced features with my S45 and Nikon 4500, I began to realize some of the limitations of many of these compact point-and-shoot digital cams like the S400.
I'd very much like to see your take on this camera.
Have to go up to Boston next month again for more interviews... I'm trying to see if my friend with the S50 can come along... I wanted to compare some Boston shots in addition to the NYC shots from his camera versus my S45 and S400.

I'm still playing with the S400, so far I like it better than the S230 but not as much as the S45/S50. We're having some very nice spring weather with lots of stuff in bloom---so it's perfect time to test a new digicam.
