| rockycream's Full Review: Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P72 Digital Camera |
I have owned this product for about 9 months now and use it daily for uploading photos to my business website. I am so impressed with this camera and very happy to have purchased it instead of the Canon Elph I was considering at the time. I haven't even tried the movie feature yet, and have bee using it strictly for digital photos to send via email and upload to sites. There are a multitude of functions on this camera, and for the first-time digital camera owner this will more than suit your needs. This was my 1st digi-cam and I still haven't explored all of the features available to me on this camera. I am very impressed by the quality of all my photos and especially the camera's ability to take pictures in low-light situations. I hav etaken this camera on vacation with me numerous times already and found the vacations photos looked amazing when we returned. The picture quality and colors are awesome, and with a simple photo software program you can easily fix lighting mistakes. I find myself almost 100% reliant upon the LCD screen (which is nice and clear) and hardly ever switch it off. The camera does have an auto shut off, so if you let it idle too long (about a minute) it will conserve the battery by turning off on its own. Even with constant use of the LCD screen I really don't have the recharge the batteries all that often. I bought some spares and that took care of recharging problems. The camera comes with a 16MB stick which is hardly anything, so definitely invest in a larger stick, especially if you are heading on vacation with this camera. I got a 124MB stick and a 64MB stick just to be sure I never run out of space. The camera is a great deal, but I have found 2 features that aren't so awesome - one, there is a small circular button (extremely tiny) on the menu button that you must depress to delete unwanted photos; the button is so small that it hard to find, let alone press time after time. The second drawback is with extreme close-ups; I find that the photos often pick up a 'wave' to them, and aren't as clear as they should be. That could just be my bad photogrpahy though. This is a gem of a camera!
