sk99's Full Review: Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P8 Digital Camera
The Sony DSC-P8 is a 3.2 megapixel, 3x optical zoom compact digital camera. It features a 1.5 inch LCD screen, the ability to take videos in 640x480 resolution and memory stick media.
When I first started looking for a digital camera, the Sony DSC-P8 was at the top of my list. It was compact, moderately priced, had a good amount of features and was backed by the Sony reliability. Plus it had one of the best video recording modes of any digital camera available.
But on the downside while the P8's pictures are good and adequate for most amateurs, when I compared them to similarily priced Canon's, the picture quality from the Canon's was much more vivid. Plus even though the P8 is still quite compact, it is not as small as the Canon's ELPH series or the Pentax Optio S. The P8 takes only Sony's proprietary memory stick media, which is quite expensive compared to compact flash.
All in all the Sony P8 is a good camera for those who want a compact, reasonably priced digital camera with abundant features.
