This is a great alternative for anyone thinking about buying an Ipod. I purchased my neuros almost a year ago, mainly deciding on 3 factors:
1: Price at $190 for a 20 Gig MP3 Player, this was a MUCH cheaper alternative to the IPod
2: Features: The unit has a ton of features and user adjustable settings. What really sold me, though, was the built in FM Transmitter.
3: Support and Community: The source code for Neuros is open and available to the public. This means that if you have a problem, someone out there other than Digital Innovations can probably help you.
Overall, my experience has been good. I love being able to hop into the car, turn the player on, and have several days worth of good music at my fingertips. The FM Transmitter works well. The downside, for me , has been reliability. In the year that I have owned the player, I have had to send it back 3 times for repair. The first time, they replaced the silver faceplate. The second time they replaced the black "backpack." The third time they sent me a whole new unit. One the upside, though, customer service has been prompt and helpful. They never gave me a hassle about returning and fixing my unit. I have had my current unit (the one that they replaced) for over 6 months now without a problem. So it is quite possible I just got a bum unit the first time around.
Overall, I definantly recommend this player.
