A friend told me to get this, said it would change my life. Boy was he right. With TIVO I don't have to be home when the shows are on. I can watch when I have time, and I'm able to record and store shows for the grandkids to watch when they come to visit. I don't have to store any disks anywhere and can search for the shows by name and not worry about channel or time just select them.
I have the TIVO set up on my wireless network.
It is so user friendly, search by keyword, title, genre, time or channel. Find what you want and hit record, if it is a show you usually watch you can choose to get the whole season, if the time changes or is pre-empted you don't have to worry it will get recorded. You decide if you want reruns or not. It's so easy to use.
The interface is user friendly, the internet interface is easy to use. I can go online and set the TIVO to record and my TIVO just records it. I can also send the recording to my computer and on most shows convert them to mp4 for my mp4 video player. I can show pictures,videos and music that are on my personal computer on my TV. You can even access your online photo albums.
If you don't have this, get it. It's worth the money and you won't want to live without it once you start using it.
TIVO's customer support is terrific, even with a complicated system set up. I was able to set this up no problem, and our system is very complex, TV, DVD Recorder, Video Recorder, Receiver and Cable.
I've recently purchased another TIVO, so now I have one in the living room and the media room. I'm able to use my wireless network to send shows from one TIVO to the other, and using Amazon.com either on my computer or directly from the TIVO, I can download rented movies and TV programs.
TIVO has also added better than a dozen on demand network shows to the line up, CNET and Quilting are just two that I get regularly.
I purchased directly from TIVO and received my box within a week.
