Alright, I am going to try the real stuff...
Written: Dec 30 '02
Pros:great smell, "comes back", very sexual for women, covers anything, not too costly...
Cons:...but costly enough to make it a treat!
The Bottom Line: This is a lady-killer, and something you really won't mind becoming part of your essence and that of your possessions.
My girlfriend loves Drakkar... no, not the knock off, the real stuff. All right, I am kind of cheap. I used to buy the fake Drakkar and wear it. My g/f wasn't a terribly big fan and often complained that I wore too much. So, I stopped.
Fast forward about a year and I noticed a sale at Walgreens for cologne. Drakkar was amongst those that were 40% off, so I decided to splurge, as I always really liked the scent. Man is there a difference! Most knock-offs are good... but I guess that for Drakkar really isn't... when I first tried the stuff at J. C. Penny I really likes it but didn't have the dough... so I bought the fragrance impression of it about a month or two later, and I obviously forgot what the real stuff smelled like because I liked the imposter.
The fake stuff upset a few people's allergies. The real stuff has never been a problem. What's more, you have to wear far less to make an impression, and what you do put on lasts a long time. If you are not noticing your cologne you can simply wet where you applied it and it comes back (see... I am cheap!)... and if you sweat at all it will come back. And it does a really good job of covering mild sweat because it is musky itself.
Going back to the old g/f, I have more and better love since I have started using the real stuff. I have been attacked on more than one occasion when wearing it! I have even had a (female) roommate come on to me unexpectedly one day when I started wearing it! I didn't cheat, mind you, but we all love being a love interest don't we?!!
The scent itself is slightly musky and reminiscent of sandalwood. There is a lot of woodsieness about it as well.
Drakkar isn't cheap, but it isn't a really high-end cologne either. For the little amount you have to use, and for the obvious reactions it has been known to promulgate, it is well worth the price. And who doesn't love that cool bottle?!!
