My mom was an Avon Lady. I spent my youth in the back seat of her Plymouth station wagon next to boxes and boxes full of colognes, soaps, body creams, hand lotions, and anything else that had a heavy, perfumey smell. So, I was immersed in fragrance for most of my formative years just by sitting in the back seat.
Hmmmm....I wonder why as an adult I can't stand to wear most fragrances? Anything with a slightly overpowering smell drives me up a tree. I've tried them all and nearly all of them make me want to yack. After two hours of wearing the stuff, I'm in the bathroom at work scrubbing my face, chest, or wherever else I spritzed myself.
Then I found Drakkar Noir in the eighties. Its light. It smells clean. It reminds me of the way the bathroom smelled when I was a kid after my dad was finished shaving and using his various aftershaves and assorted toiletries. Its kinda like walking into a warm, comforting hug. Nothing overpowering, just light notes of amber, citrus, and spice.
Best of all, I don't know its there when I'm wearing it. Even better than that, your partner won't know its there unless they are standing close to you. So, snuggle up!
If you are looking for a clean, fresh, light smelling fragrance that smells nothing like a heavy fragrance trying to be a clean smelling fragrance (like ooh so many of those made by Mister Klein and Mr. Hilfiger,) you've found the right one.
