| luke8400's Full Review: eMachines etower 400i PC Desktop |
I bought my emachines 400i about 6 or 7 months ago, and I haven't found any major problems. When I bought it, it was only $200 with the internet deal, and I couldn't resist considering that the only other computer I had was a really old 486. I was dying for a new computer. So I bought this. And I haven't had any problems with it except the modem was fried during a storm, and all I had to do was send in for a new one. It wasn't that big of a deal. I found it to be easy to upgrade...I've already put in an extra 64 MB of RAM because all it comes with is 32. The game/USB ports are in the front..that's good. The only bad side is that when you buy it, it doesn't come with much. Only 32 mb ram, sucky speakers, no monitor, no software. But it wasn't a problem because I just got more memory, new speakers, and used my old monitor. I've called tech support a few times, and they have been pretty helpful. If you are looking for the biggest and best, don't go with this. But if you are looking for a great buy, this is a really good deal. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a computer that doesn't make you pay for things you might not need...like a really fast processor. The celeron processor is good for what I do, I don't play to many 3d games, I leave that for my N64 or Playstation. The bottom line: It's good for the normal computer user, upgrades are easy, and it's a great buy.
