elliecats's Full Review: Ecoquest Living Air Classic Air Purifier
On the good side, I've had my Living Air Purifier for 2 years now and have had good luck with it cleaning smells out of my house. Before I got it, I had 3 cats and a basement with a mildew problem (although not severe, it is smelly and annoying). The purifier has eliminated any odors associated with both, especially cat box odor. It also effectively eliminates cooking odors. Fabrics like clothing and furniture smell clean and fresh. Despite the fact I vacuum frequently after my cats, they do leave an animal odor on furniture and carpet, so the fact the purifier removes that smell is a big plus for me.
On the bad side, if it is set too high you will smell ozone. I don't feel too good about that after reading recent reports on ozone. BUT, the owner's guide stresses the importance of using the lowest setting possible necessary. Since I've adjusted it, I have still been able to effectively get rid of odors without the smell of ozone.
The product was advertised to aid breathing and improve health. I have not noticed a difference in either, but it does not cause me dry sinuses, sore throat, or headaches like other users have mentioned. I have asthma and have not noticed a change in that one way or the other. It also claimed to eliminate dust, but I certainly NOT seen that happen.
