Ease of Use:
Pros:Many of the high-end features of double strollers at a more moderate price.
Cons:Takes a bit of muscle to maneuver and put away.
The Bottom Line: A good, all purpose double stroller for the mall or the neighborhood at a reasonable price.
As I was expecting my second child, I scoured every place imaginable looking for the "ultamate" double stroller. After looking at multiple criteria, this was the stroller I chose. Let me tell you why.
The tandem seating is a big plus for me. When I was looking at strollers, I stopped every mom pushing a double and asked their opinions of strollers. About 4 out of 5 moms suggested getting the tandem style because the side by side style is almost impossible to use indoors, especially at a mall. They are simply too wide to use in the aisles.
After I narrowed my search to tandems, I chose this stroller. This was after test driving about 8 or 10 different styles at a baby store. This one was one of the easiest to maneuver in the store. The large basket underneath was a big plus. It will easily hold a jumbo diaper bag and still have room for more. The cup holder for the adult was a non-negotiable for me. It fits almost any drink and has another compartment for keys, pacifiers, snacks, etc. Also appealing is that the front seat has a cup holder and tray. The cup holder is sized to fit either a sippy cup or a juice box quite nicely. This trau is also completely removable if you want your toddler to be able to climb in or out. The colors are nice and the material has a good "feel" to it.
The seating options on the stroller are nice as well. My infant is very comfortable in the back seat. The legs fold up to make a bassinet style area that is very secure. Now, we have the back inclined slightly with the legs still folded flat so that my daughter can sit up slightly with absolutely no risk of her slipping out through the leg openings. The front seat is quite comfy for my 3 foot tall son. The seat can recline some, not all the way, but that isn't something we were looking for. I do like the added feature that the front seat can face backwards. We will probably use that when my daughter is able to sit up more.
The stroller came in a large box but I easily put it together without my husband's help. The instructions were clear and all parts were included.
Cosco is well known in strollers and is a name I trust. The Eddie Bauer label wasn't a selling point for me but I don't mind it, either.
There are a few drawbacks to this stroller. This is not really an "All-Terrain" stroller. It is more along the lines of a neighborhood/mall type stroller. This stroller is heavy and large, even when folded. It fits easily in the back of my mini-van but I imagine it would completely fill the trunk of a mid-size car.
All in all, I like the stroller. The handles are nice and high so my 6 foot 3 husband likes the way it handles as well. It is by far the best stroller at this price point.
As for price, I bought mine at an online site that frequently has $50 off $150 coupon codes and also free shipping. I paid a whopping $130, including shipping. So bargains on this stroller can be had.
