The Bottom Line: All show and no go.

While expecting our fourth child, we decided we needed to invest in a new double stroller. We already had the Grace Duo Glider, and it was still functional - but it was three years old and we wanted something with a little more luxuries.

The Eddie Bauer Stadium stroller stuck out most to me when we started the hunt for a new stroller. The posh padding and designer looking fabric caught my eye. My husband noticed it had it's own suspension and "shocks". The second thing I noticed was the cup holders and the comfy handle. After looking it over, I found lots of other positives. The storage basket underneath was huge, which is always a definite plus. The seats could either sit forward facing or facing each other, which was also very neat. The canopies were also very sturdy and had great coverage. I was in love with this stroller from the get go... but my husband made me check out all of our options before we purchased it.

When it came down to it, we ended up back at the Eddie Bauer stroller. We decided to test drive it around the store to see how well it steered. We each took turns pushing it and bouncing it (the shocks really do allow you to "bounce" the stroller - a good thing for newborns!!!)

The last test was to try to turn the seats to facing each other and try to fold the stroller down to see how hard these options really were to pull off. We were able to do both with relative ease.

We did note the stroller was larger than the Duo Glider we already owned, but the sales person in the store assured us there would be no trouble fitting it in my Chevy Luminas trunk (We had my husband's mini van at the time, so we couldn't test it). Besides, the larger size sounded wonderful to us because the person who would also be riding in this stroller would soon turn 3....

The price, in comparison with other double strollers, was reasonable. With all the added features, we decided to go for it! I was in cloud nine! I pictured myself strolling through the mall with my cadillac of strollers...

REALITY BITES!!! My two girls were anxious to test the stroller out as soon as we got it home. We decided to go for a walk. My oldest daughter (3) sat up front, and we were going to put the youngest (2) in the back. Much to our disbelief, she didn't quite fit! Her head was smushed by the canopy and almost reached the steering bar. I was flustered, so we decided to put off that walk, and I proceeded to fold up the stroller to put in my trunk.

I hope nobody was video taping my efforts, because I may wind up on Americas Funniest Home Videos. I tried ever angle known to man - that sucker wasn't going in my trunk. So not only did my daughter not fit correctly in the rear seat, but now I couldn't go anywhere with the stroller because it was too large for my trunk. My husband said he'd work with it and came back in with a smirk on his face. He said "problem solved". Much to my horror, I found a makeshift roof rack on my car with this beast of a stroller on top of it. Needless to say, we were back the next day to return the stroller. Wouldn't you know it, the sales lady was not at all surprised. She said these strollers have been returned a lot due to size and also steering problems!! Grrrr.... so it was back to the Duo Glider for us. We did find one with a cup holder and storage try on the steering bar, so I'm happy. I'm even happier that my children actually fit into this stroller!!
